"STRENGTH"

I inspired in identity to create my garment. I know who I am, and the things that I like. But I don´t know what I want to be in the future, and which is the correct path I should take to pursue my dreams.
My intention was to create a special garment inspired in this event. It´s supposed to protect someone that is confused, and don´t know where to go, or what decisions to make.
I chose very special colors and textures to give a special intention to my garment. The gold color represents a real armor; it also represents the strength and character you need to make a right decision. This color makes my piece looks very elegant and fancy.
On the bottom I crated straight lines using pleats. This means that you just need to follow a straight line so you don´t get lost in your way. In the other hand I chose to put white paper in the top of the shirt. This paper has holes which represent the difficulties that you face in order to be able to reach the right way. In the back I also putted white paper with pleats. This means that even the path you take has many curves on the way, never give up.
The necklace is a really interesting piece in the garment. It has a black square that symbolizes authenticity. You need to be authentic to have a real identity.
I think that the strongest part in my piece is the top part. It´s not just well crafted, but it´s the main part and has lot of symbols. Next time I think I would change the part in the back. I think that it´s very simple and maybe by adding something different I can make my piece more interesting.
I´m really happy with the final result of my piece!

REFLECTION
I went to the MET museum to saw the exposition of “Prada and Schiaparelli" and the one of “Arms and Armor". I got really inspired in the Armor exposition. I liked a lot the different types of armor depending of each time and culture. I got inspired by the colors. I also chose the gold color for my final armor because it remains me of the past armors. Since I wanted my final piece to look like a real armor I tried to make similar segments of some real armor I saw. For example the pleats I used and the necklace very close to the neck.

MY INSPIRATION GARMENT

Coat, Hard Chic,
 Prada:
"Fashion fosters cliches of beauty..."

This  garment is from the exposition of "Prada and Schiaparelli impossible conversations". It was created by Prada. This is a black, shaped silhouette coat. It has a really clean, and simple flat texture. The shoulders are shaped upwards. It has a "V" neck form, but the right side is above the left side. It has a few details in the front. The four bottons are on the right side. It has has two pockets on each side at the bottom.
This garment is my favorite even it´s really simple. I think it works really succesfully because even do it´s simple it has this tiny details that make it look casual, but elegant at the same time.

ALEXIA & COCO CHANEL IMPOSSIBLE CONVERSATIONS

“Fashion fades, only style remains the same. "

“Don't spend time beating on a wall, hoping to transform it into a door.”

By, Coco Chanel

I would love to have and impossible conversation with Chanel. Not only because Chanel is one of the biggest names in fashion, but also because of her admirable life. She had a very difficult childhood, her family was poor and when she was twelve her mother died and the father left. Despite her hard childhood and suffering, Chanel worked very hard.

She is considered to have had such an influence that she is the only fashion designer who ended up on Time 100: The Most Important People of the Century. Coco made a movement, for women to dress more casual and comfortable. She changed the world of fashion. I can tell she was very talented and creative. I want to ask her, how did she was able to never give up even do she had really difficult times during her life.

She never got married but she had several passionate relationships. She was very dedicated to her art. Her life and work really inspires me. It's really important for me to have role models, and women to admire. Her work had influenced my work because I admire the elegance and style she used. She kept casual and simple designs. I try to reflect in my work casual things, but without losing the elegant touch.

The most important thing, she inspire me to follow my dreams, to never give up and to work hard for the thing I want in life.
